Amazing how the fear and loathing machinery works, and all the ready and wiling shills to distribute the end product.

On my tag surfer, I just encountered off the hinge anti Obama reasoning clothed in the appearance of objectivity. This post will be about the emotionally disturbed “reasoning” that comes to revolve around politics, but particularly the right wing with its disrespect for reality and scientific objectivity. There is a psychological reason why ad-hominem emotional “connections” and paranoiac “proofs” proliferate in the right wing blogosphere.

With society broadly reduced to extreme emotional reasoning for direction (ex. cable news coverage of politics), rather than that of long term policy repercussions, do not be surprised to have the candidates both rendered relative to personality types, then evaluated on if they are the type you would like. This opens that subjective preference window, where candidates can be called “aloof”, “old” or some other derogatory intonation, as if that is how to judge a president. Suddenly, were one stands on the profound issues of the day drifts away, and we wonder who is more like daddy, or one we would rather have a beer with. Diversion Accomplished!

THE LURE OF THE DISTURBED FORCE TO THE POLITICAL RUBIKS SUGAR CUBE

I, and about, oh, a million or 10 million others, knew well before hand what this election would boil down to in the end; insecurity, fear and a trust of the coin, instead of profound policy interest. But first let me mention a few things of perspective to create the base of the viewpoint I am arguing for.

On the one hand this presidential election, there will be hope for many of those who feel they have not been heard in America. These are the people who hear politicians tell them over and over, election after election, about change that suggest there is hope to address their intransigent problems. They have heard this for decades.

This season, some of these citizens are quite sure they have someone they can once again trust, and much because of his appearance, and also that some of his beliefs seem to have been correct in the long term. For many, he represents a return to liberalism’s core values of respect and decency for all, regardless of hereditary or other preexisting endowments. Some of us may feel he is quite naive, while others believe a fresh new inclusive approach would serve America best.

It will remain to be seen if these belief’s are correct, as it is for any political individual once into the Chief Executive institutional office. It is good to suggest that some presidents might actually try to represent all the people, and not just their base. Recently this hope has proved to be quite wishful thinking.

WHEN RIGHT IS WRONG

I feel the “conservative” party hardly needs a place check for their candidate, since they will end up actually representing the interest they are bought and paid to do–select groups that feel they are entitled to America (and the world), period, and do not care at all for the rest of us. From the deceptions perpetrated on Iraq, to Katrina, and endless tax breaks for the very rich while infrastructures (social and material) collapse, and the constitution crumbles; these are the history of my proof. They require another candidate to assure their elite base that policies of the oligarchy will continue as usual, selling the taxpayers down the drain, keeping us seduced by fear of one kind or another all along the way.

They need a population under much stress to achieve basic survival goals, and a population beyond the pale of a kind of cognitive dissonance endemic to the entitled. That the US is 5% of the population and uses 25% of energy is off their radar. That big internationalized business is encouraged, in the cancer philosophy of constant expansion, to induce the rest of the planet to follow suit, requires the denial of pollution and other damage to the planetary commons such as global warming.

We all pay for the consequence of the delusions foisted upon us by this blind following the blind fear and insecurity train. The conservative mantra of these types, is to always blame the cautionary messengers, deny the science (hire scientist to impute prevailing theories of cause and effect), and seduce the population to embrace a dominator/materialist philosophy regardless of consequence.

Conservatives always hold someone else responsible first for all problems. They thrive off of traditional violent crime fear, and now terrorism fear. As in the Iraq invasion, fear makes the whole nation susceptible to false claims; shooting first and asking questions later. We no longer have the protection afforded by an independent and free press. We the people, have been intellectually disarmed through manipulations of both theory and fact.

TO DIVIDE THEM IS TO OWN THEM

Generally though, the nation fares much better under “liberal” Democrats, no matter where you stand economically. But if you are trapped in an ideological tangent, or are seduced into one of its whirlpools by wedge issue stimulated insecurities, liberals and liberalism are the Frankensteinian ugly monster lurching everywhere behind the nations woodwork come election time.

Oddly for these, even when their economically elite side has built up a gross economic advantage, and an ideological driven divide and conquer machinery that far surpassed the influence of hodgepodge liberal organizations in effectiveness, these people still always seem to be under siege. Or perhaps more correctly, like the mindset that nurtures fear, suspicion and paranoia by the under siege mentality.

They require the philosophical “threat” presumed intrinsic to liberal institutions, if not real, then at least imagined to be so pervasive. Liberal bi-coastal “elites”, apparently European like “intellectuals” (not like average American folks!), and that all powerful juggernaut known as the Liberal Media, or Main Stream Media. This represents the perpetual whining grounds of right wing ideologues. Again. They need to nurture fear and loathing. If this is achieved by fact or fiction makes little difference. “What works” is what counts in this competition mindset made to order for Rovian burn the bridges cult-think. It is why fact, as well as contrapuntal theories, are demeaned or exiled from the ruling “conservative” ideological fantasy’s world view.

THE NEW SAME OLD SAME OLD

All cultures have the “haves” and varying degrees of the “have not’s”. These days these are mostly economic, but also tribal-ideological-neospiritual. Staus quo power groups have tended to associate, and to some extent mix their goals to bind their privilege and their power to entrenched institutional advantage. Since a free press as well as democratic institutions such as elections require an inherently liberal platform to thrive and be truly realized, they then pose a kind of constant systemic threat to these oligarchical like societal manipulators.

Fortunately for these wealthy and influential power groups, their advantage gives them an ever increasing advantage, and yet they can use the language of freedom and liberty to stealthily hide their own usurpation of freedom and liberty, perhaps the paradox that will kill true democracy. By relativizing the abstractions, they can argue for a bias to their favor in most all aspects of life, then complain endlessly through media institutions and their vast array of status quo conservative interest think tanks and escapist egomaniacs, to fund a constant attack on the rights of the commons.

EVERYTHING IS EVERYTHING

The commons is both our earth and all societal relationships. It’s attackers constantly erect walls and barriers in the commons to secure their own advantage over the rest of civilization. They can then declare there is no commons, as if standing against the oneness of the universe itself. To these interest, the liberal institutions of freedom and democracy, those of “We the People”, were an obstacle to deconstruct or render mute in time. As far as a liberal media; the fourth estate was established under free speech protection to be intrinsically liberal in nature. Not just giving the Kings, the Popes, or any other privilege controlling access that would thus stifle descent.

We hardly hear of the issues of the poor or disadvantaged anymore, because the “have” class doesn’t like to hear of it. Mentioning its existence has been called invoking class warfare, as if the truth itself hurts their view. They likely feel guilty, and if not, should, for the contempt for the commons is itself self defeating.

For those who lack health care, for instance, and keep getting antibiotics to treat infections for teeth and whatnot. Those disease resistant bacteria will come back to haunt the rich as well, as their own children might fall terminally ill one day to come. Somehow, the organisms will miss the notions of separation and denial. They will be equal opportunity employers. The ranting Jingoist like ravings over the “nanny state” will come to look like stupidity distilled as each blowback arrives.

The haves can blame the poor as always. Their party will also not be held accountable for all its opposition to basic health care for all as a human right as well. No matter what ideology or contempt for others one erects, what goes around will come around. All things are as one. Creation can not actually be parted out and removed from the cause and effects within the universe.

Not gravity, diseases, nor truth stops short for anyone. However, this fundamental truth will not be discussed much in an escapist corporate for sale media, which is inherently wed to corporate security interest against the average citizen. (Unbelievably short sighted!) But the fear and insecurity endemic to greed and “having it all” is its bread and butter. The populations will, as they are now, be encouraged to ignore the plights of the world, but to instead, look to how you can secure your own private good life. A life of pleasant and comfortable denial and unconscious disadvantage to the soul.

THE ABSTRACT POISON PILL DOES KILL

Just as in the beginning of the Iraq war one could hear from average citizens that they supported it because “They had attacked us!”, now, as on my blog tag surfing, one hears Obama spelled Osama, and much “Hussein” innuendo to blur who is who. But the disingenuously assembled “reason” does not just stop at that. On the right wing faux news TV show, someone commentating suggested it would be good if Osama and Obama were eradicated.

It is frightening to see how disassociated from reality many of the current “conservative” pundits and sycophants are, or are presumed to be by their articles. Unfortunately, I find lots of such corrupted ad-hominen evidence in bloggers who are claiming to be objective. With list “documented” of all the people Obama, or who this person called Osama, allegedly had killed. Someone is seriously suggesting Barack is a serial killer Islamisist, and of course throw in; an accomplice to the 9-11 hijackers in the same piece.

Once one steps off the reality boat, jumping off the plank, the ocean of illusions and fantasy knows no bounds. But the objective of the post is clearly to sow fear and paranoia, since elections can come down to a decision over doubts and trust for many in the end. Then, presumably this year, the hero John McWayne comes in to clear things up and let us get back to shopping and blaming liberals for all of life’s ills. Unbelievably demented, but we must believe the intents of fear mongering and unfounded allegations (including swiftboating tactics) to know the nature of deceptions rampant on the right.

COME FULL CIRCLE TO COMPLETE THE CIRCULAR REASONING MATRIX

We are faced with the imposed dichotomy of the open world view vs the closed. The haves vs the have not’s. Us vs Them. The closed world views of conservatism, in the reactionary fundamental sense of that idea, push away new or contrary evidence to established theory, or assumed fact. This has become the false self centered bastion of materialistic individualism, where freedom is mostly a doing what I want regardless of others or other beliefs.

A basic disconnect towards “others” or strangers, separation identity truncates self awareness and a sense of place in a diverse and changing world. The psychotic like mental aberrations and inbred contempt for critical thinking, seem the staple of some who refuse to recognize their own dependence on all things great and small. The resulting self delusional contempt for others and the commons, is a kind of self loathing spewed out into the world. This in part creates the basis for the delusion that problems are that external worlds fault, while petty or no self evaluation toward objectivity is encouraged or required. Now “scape goats” and “whipping boys” stand in to be blamed for the lack of self honesty and demonic like projections toward target groups of strange or alien others.

What is called cognitive dissonance, is a self balancing phenomenon that helps the individual “live” with her/himself amidst contradictory self perceptions. For some, if acting selfish but with a self image of a caring person, ones own selfishness is denied, yet this “lie”, not being acknowledged, seems to induce one to persecute the “liars” out in the world. One then can seem to be a good and decent person, but be angry over the deceptions others seem to have that are similar.

The so called “sins of the fathers” reproduce themselves until they are resolve with conscious enlightenment. Some spiritual traditions do know this, as do psychological theories. But for politics, some use this phenomenon as a base to garner votes, in effect, attempting to preserve dysfunctional unawareness indefinitely. This denial psychology is a staple of life on the right.

Whether it is division by race, sex, religion, cultural taste etc, we have the fuel put into the ad hominem fire that drives this engine of contempt on the right. That the world of humankind by nature requires inclusion, not exclusion, is not even on their radar. They see only us and them. They do not see that exclusion is both delusional, oppressive and will inevitably produce conflict and destruction. The divisiveness of nurtured fear and paranoia is antithetical to democracy and socially responsible freedom and liberty. Freedom and liberty can only exist truly under responsibilities umbrella.

THE TRUTH OF CONNECTION

I cannot be free or have the liberty, for instance, to fly panes into buildings. That “freedom” embodies an obvious perverse “responsibility”(self sacrifice for?), and was the fodder for a maniacs desire for revenge. It was what evil is; a manifestation of separation and alienation, manipulated and run amok. Yet, responsibility knows no bounds as well. I also must be held accountable for my own pollution, or exploitation of another’s situation to my own benefit. To not understand that responsibility is all inclusive as well, is to be an escapist from ones true self and your full and whole nature here in Life.

Liberalism is by definition “open ended” for a reason; presumably to let in new evidence and new found proven “truths” into the equations of life and living. Of course it is not perfect at this, and exit under unrelenting objection by those who feel only their way is right, so all other ideas must be in error or wrong.

Overall, conservatism is locked down and in, it tends to be dominated by a fear based “circular reasoning”, where the conclusion is proven by the premise, so no new information is required in for the true believers. This is a mind trap of exclusion. The trouble with that, so evidenced in our recent history is; we never know everything, not for absolute certainty. When I say I do, I am telling life, or the new, or the different, no thank you. I am fine as I am. You keep out of me. And that my fellow Americans is a delusion, because all things are both interconnected and interrelated. To not acknowledge that, and the mandates and responsibilities it entails; like the “Golden Rule” or the Categorical Imperative, is to slap Life, Reality, or is it all God, right in the Face.

You would think they have a dart board. Wait. A few dart boards.

Now they have to figure out how to have their seasoned guy, who recently reversed about everything he ever said, (on their chosen controversial issues) to seem like the stable guy. They have to do that while making the other guy seem like a “flip-flopper”, pointing to his “new”/flipped positions, (obviously part of his hope based inexperience), which positions he actually has had since at least the first debates over a year ago when grilled on the topics, except perhaps for telecom immunity. Just ignore the past. I guess that is the secret for this election.

It is the secret of most elections; convince the public that the liberal is a wasteful big spender or a flip-flopper. It does not matter that the conservative party does this by an order of magnitude more, both big spending, extraordinarily wasteful policies for the average American, plus flip flopping with each change in definition. They have a kind of critical thinking immunity granted them by business and hierarchical/dominator interest. And so, false topics can be regarded real, and just partisan opinion battles in the press. And America will lose more of what we once had, and the conservatives need drum up more external or internal demons; “It’s all taxes fault! Damn liberals.” This is how the public is used to flush their own interest down the dominators toilet. And we wonder why things just keep deteriorating around us. Duh.

They do have some things going for them in this duplicitous attack on the more liberal guy, with its ad hominem mind blank; they have a media parrot that will repeat anything and claim it is fair because it is a debate, so your view is equal. They also know that any easy negative works well over nuanced degrees in positions, as well as how biased assumptions are played on to seem much more than the empty assumptions they are. Repetition and pre existing bias can seem to create real notes to a song of fear and suspicion, out of literally nothing but fear itself. Black magic at its best; have your own fear seem to be caused by someone outside you, then plan on their defeat as the solution to your fear. And you wonder why the same problems just get worse?

THE US AND THEM, US AND THEM

Elections are always about community interest versus the interest of individual self centerdness. While both of our parties pander some to both sides in varying configurations, since World War Two, community interest has been placed under relentless assault by the ideological right wing seeking to appropriate and parcel out the commons to themselves and their ideological friends.

They have infiltrated religious quarters and had a never-ending attack on tax, which is the means the community responds on many critical issues. They do this for that ever lustful need for more and more control of what is to be defined as human interest, that it is to be; everyone is in it for themselves. The community is needed to fight the battles for the wealthy and powerfuls actions. The community (the poor especially) is called upon to fight for more world wide self centerdness and to maintain disparities at home in the economic realities. This is usually called freedom, our vital interest, and or, our way of life. Thus, suddenly extended in abstraction to everyone’s benefit. Wow! A rabit out of a hat! The “vision thing” is to remain an enticing abstraction called upon to gather votes. Now with election and constitution tampering, even that necessity is atrophying.

This concerted conservative based effort to separate and divide humankind permanently, and relegate human consciousness, not to community purpose, but to individual survival. Dominators know, someone in dire straights to survive will do most anything. You can then gather another’s life energy and appropriate it for yourself, a kind of individual tax on everything or anyone you can get away with. The program underway is to institutionalize that “getting away with it” universal tax private interest collect on each of us most all the time.

Demonising the residual government tax, greatly assist diverting the collective public attention from common needs and survival interest, to a self focused “achievement” survival mentality, based on a kind of worship of the individual. As if individuals are somehow outside the interconnectedness and interrelationships intrinsic to all that is. Yep. Stress can be wedged to manipulate understanding to include or exclude whatever an opportunist wishes–if they have enough relevant access to your mind frame, and you are somehow deprived of critical thinking abilities; boot up their software.

So we can expect to see many invisible but present constraints on the full debate of human issues. These, instead, will be ones where much theory and little reality are used to “compare” who is better than who by the zeitgeist invoked this election season. It looks like the so called more conservative party will try to get within that fudge range where the election can be more covertly thrown. A last ditch “incident” real or imaginary (as many were last elections) will possibly be drummed up to help institute public dumb think so essential to most all conservative notions.

What has America learned from this parade of conservative presidents and congresses that have strangled the commons and set up the fat predatory dominator elites?

Let us insist that the dumb think being invoked now and conjured up on the right, will be seen as the black magic it is. Otherwise; welcome to the corporate welfare state where you will likely be a servant. Spare change for gas?

This is a political post, but I will be talking about symbiosis.

If you are a regular gardener, you may have noticed that certain ants raise cattle. They heard aphids onto some juicy plant parts, and go on to milk them.

Now, in a demented way, even slavery can be called to be to mutual benefit, in fact, the corporate world has a propaganda based philosophy that programs us into the ego fulfilling joy of being dependent on them. One may assume that the aphids receive some benefit as well. The ants might protect them from some enemies, and, or, the aphids do not have to worry about looking for food. The ants see to it that they can eat, as long as they produce for them.

I think that overall, this ant to aphid relationship is the one we have here and in most of the world. It particularly seems to apply to the philosophy exposed by actions from the political right, since they are quite wedded to an anti common spirituality of asymmetrical human relationship.

As bad as we might know slavery was, especially the more overt kind that was subjected to some Americans during the era of slavery, those who favored it seemed to think of it as a mutual blessing. They felt, through their asymmetrical mental paradigm, that some humans were not really human, and so quite incapable of surviving without them. In return for slavery, these chattel, or cattle, were “protected” and given a life if they kept producing. Many a slave owner felt entitled to their good life, and entitled to punish their slaves as they saw fit. In some profound ways, the US is now “succeeding” because people in China are so abundant and paid so little overall. Wonderful?

It may be very politically incorrect to acknowledge this truth; but many slaves, (threatened with death, and or, a seriously problematic future attempting to be free in a culture that determined they were subjects of another race), that many slaves were complacent and resolved to their systemic imprisonment. If it is a politically “wrong” notion, I am sorry, but it nevertheless is our own current state of affairs. No. We are not hauled out and killed for being “against” the corporatist perception of the servant to master head mask for the human mind, but we will be excluded, and essentially left on our own without an established support system if we do differently.

Society has long been this one way street of affairs; the wealthy have the institutions set up to service them. Just look how wrong yet biased this perception actually is, yet you likely never think of it; companies raise their prices to offset their cost. Duh! Right? Do you have a same right to raise your wage to offset your cost? Duh! Right? I’d like to see you, as an employee, raise your wage every time you need to. You would be abandoned to your own devises, and this is the asymmetrical relationship of slavery. No. Not as blatant as that one old fashioned kind.

How many demonstrations or strikes actually had the law enforcement on their side? Only “technically” since strikes and demonstrations are at times dissolved “for your own good” by authority structures. But make no mistake about it, as they say, we live in an Ant herding tiny aphid’s world. This is why many human rights are atrophying under the class war onslaught of corporate rights over the rights of the individual. Yet many voters are fooled again, and again by wedge issues, into supporting the dominator class, while they sell off their own rights.

The so called “party of the people” read the power zeitgeist and has stared to fall into corporate line as well. The Democratic convention of 2004 had its own “free speech zone” like the conservative power party, removed from the convention site, so it could be soundly ignored. Business was determined to be more important than rights, and the nation itself as a free speech zone proclaimed by the constitution was revoked. Always for your own good. Freedom is that easily dumped for aphid like security.

As in overt slavery, the issue for the general population is the same; there is no support system for thinking outside the chattel box, except for trying to be a “master” oneself. We are often chastised that that is what freedom is all about; you do not like being someone else’s slave? Then become a master of your own affairs, self employed somehow or a boss of you own making. This still essentially continues the one way street of perception and human imagination regarding alternative futures.

Humans were and are an integral part of life on earth. This privatization of Creation, is an attempt to be as God. The perception, based on actions, is that we no longer have a right to exist that seems endemic to life itself. Instead; the perception is being instilled that it is a privilege to exist, being that we are allowed to exist if we essentially follow the Ownership of Creation ideology. You have money or else you are allowed to “fail”. Opportunist have turned this one way street into the measure of the “man”. You do it and are so judged, as if God is pleased if you succeed at a Darwinianized concept of successful separation from the whole.

We each are as original peoples once were, spiritually shocked into these alien notions that tell us we divide and conquer Creation and parcel it out to those who have the money. Tribes in the Americas, for instance, thought the European invaders insane for thinking they can posses the land as a personal attachment no longer available to others. Yes. These same tribes may not have noticed that they generally do not let other tribes just run all over them and their “territory”.

As with the Ant’s and aphids, many unconscious structures “work” for survival without necessarily being “conscious”. But we presume ourselves to be conscious. And as the Algonquin Confederation added its influence to the US Constitution via Thomas Jefferson, humankind at times becomes conscious enough to understand how common individual rights come to benefit all of a diverse society. Consciousness if the key humans can have to return to collective enlightenment.

This is the issue I am raising before you of here. How many of the wealthy are concerned that their carbon footprint, if understood under the Golden Rule or Categorical Imperative, that their lifestyle would terminate humankind, including their own families and futures? They are living on opportunism and not conscious enlightenment. They are “getting away” with their life for now, just because they can. They are, however, writing humankind’s suicide note yet feeling quite the “success” in doing so.

Yes, asymmetrical human relationship is nothing new, but in the spiritual sense, it is a profound violation of the underlying truth of the universe–that all things are connected. The divisions are intrinsically superficial, and to base all our awareness on superficiality has us miss the common forest for the trees seeming to obstruct our view. We, in our mechanically surface oriented perception, are actually taking the God (Ultimate Unity) out of our view. Making It into an abstraction. Then pretending this Oneness is mental and debatable as to Its existence. We have become slaves to the limitations of our own cosmological paradigm, a paradigm at odds with Creation Itself. We have attempted to leave the actual universe, and live in one of our own imagination. Not being a responsible part of reality means; we are constructing our own exclusion!

Many might think; what is the problem? The problem is the earth will not support this mass consumption society indefinitely. We are receiving ample warnings of environmental infrastructures nearing collapse. Yet for most of us apparently; what can one do? Well. this is when things do become black and white. Some right wing ideologues do not even support a public response to the nations collapsing infrastructures. They are so against community response to common need, seeing it as a step down that slippery slope to socialism. What they do not see is; they have poked out their own eyes and bypassed their own hearts to believe we cannot do things together with one mind and intention to solve a problem. What magical answer do they have in their ideological crystal ball that is going to fix all the deteriorating roads and bridges? God will give us flying cars?

We decide to be part of the solution by being conscious of our decisions in a relationship and a global sense, or we remain part of the problem. Like those hungry aphids facing a long term drought. It does not mater how “secure” the Ants make us feel and tell us we are, nor how the commercials say they are aware and getting on the problem. The wildfire is just a matter of time. Private interest is as private interest historically does; they will milk the rest of us, then abandon you when they see fit to save themselves. That is the slaves trustful bottom line. What will we all do when these cotton fields dry up?

In democratic societies, where votes are still relevant (we trust), stopping thought processes, diverting them, or better yet, preventing them from occurring, is the most valuable thing to power interest to continue to have an unfair advantage in systems designed to give each citizen an equal say.

This means pre-existing bias to not know the world, or not to know what is attempting to go on behind the scenes to rig the system to events favored by the powerful few, is held to a premium. Those institutions and ideals that lend themselves to non objective conclusions are then the easiest vehicles for public manipulations. These will be promoted by predatory and manipulative elites to control cultural development.

There is a reason why in general, the more educated one is, the more liberal one tends to be. The nuance and complexities of life are comprehended, along with the dangers of subjectivist based group-think. This does not mean that liberals cannot be fooled, and quite easily, it is more of an indication of the liberal tendency to grant that leaping to judgement, particularly over personal behavioral issues, is intrinsically immature. Liberals should know that the reasons for behavior are a factor to be reckoned with, and not just denied, blamed, or controlled as if their influence does not extend beyond physical manipulation.

It is immature to just react to dysfunction and think the cause is addressed, for we are not each the sole god of creation, nor able to judge each others actions as irrational, in the sense that we would not have done the same thing if in “their shoes”, even if the act is obviously wrong. If one believes in a rational universe and or Creator, one acknowledges that events occur for a reason. Yes, even if that reason is a convoluted, twisted mess of subjective rationalizations. This brings up the requirements for empathy, compassion and forgiveness even amidst great harm. Otherwise, one takes in and magnifies the dysfunction by empowering its negative hold and appeal to the dysfunctional. Much ancient wisdom understood this. Politics, however, seeks to erase deeper knowing for surface judgements.

And so liberals tend to believe in growth and reconciliation and not necessarily in the deterministic view that once you have done something, it cannot be addressed for the better. We can have the odd reversal of beliefs where, while liberals believe in rationalism, they may well be forgiving, while conservatives who may well believe in a smorgasbord of subjectivist philosophies, tend to have a might makes right view towards addressing human behavioral dysfunctions.

In the US, the conservatives are most always negative based; if it isn’t the plague of crime and “sin”, it is terrorism and endless threats. While some of these concerns may have a certain validity, they can be used as a foil to forever maintain societal structures that impinge on both individual freedom and justice–the right to live not based solely on how much money one has or favor with hierarchical power structures.

This, then, is where the conservatives gather; they tend to demean “intellectual elites” while ceaselessly promoting ad-hominem leaps of judgemental faith. They are this way even when many have religious beliefs that are highly liberal, instead they select out, or cherry pick that which reinforces a cosmological view that tends to grant themselves much leeway and favor, while condemning many who act or look or believe differently.

They are used by those interested in an inherently antidemocratic societal calibration, that does not favor equality or justice, but instead, sees the world of privilege as some kind of Divine or just outworking for the rich and powerful. Again, this is at odds with democracy and freedom at fundamental levels. Yet the emerging corporate control of the state and the commons is seen as some inevitable and irreversible force. all of life’s necessities become relegated to have or have not–money and or connection to its privilege.

We are witnessing now as I type, the power interest adjusting public perceptions and understandings, all mostly quite under the radar. News of Iraq and Afghanistan have dropped precipitously off the media radar screens, even though Afghanistan is having major conflict arise and more troops died their in May than in Iraq.

This is not a coincidence given that it is both an election year, and the more conservative party is controlled by predators of the commons who have everything but equal rights and access in their minds and hearts. This is how ignorance gains its value; by not having all the facts, (as many as can be had), the public is much more likely to jump to the desired conclusions of the power groups controlling society and the information medias. All these groups tend to be intertwined and know what philosophy, or lack of objective awareness, keeps them on top of you.

This will be the campaign of control, to attempt to keep the public divided, to keep rumor and innuendo afloat, and to release theory as fact, and selected facts, as the proof to the presumed insecurity zeitgeist intended to swing enough of the unknowing to side with authority in times of stress. Which often approx. 70% of population do, and do at their own and others peril. The power of what is kept from view is phenomenal.
